MEET THE FACULTY

Barry Cunningham

Barry is a principal and advanced planning generalist for a national wholesale and retail insurance organization. Barry is the Vice President of Best Practices of America, a retail, comprehensive, multi-disciplinary, multi-generational, wealth management organization.

Jarrett Macanas

Jarrett is a trusts and estates attorney based in Hawaii and licensed in the State of Utah. He graduated from Brigham Young University, received his law degree from the University of Utah S. J. Quinney College of Law, and earned a Masters of Laws (LL.M.) in Taxation with a concentration in Estate Planning from Boston University School of Law.

Pete Uher

Pete has an MBA from the University of Michigan and a BSBA from Ohio State University. He is the co-founder and Principal of Viden Arbor Capital, and previously co-founded Sage Hill Capital. His prior work experience occurred at PricewaterhouseCoopers as a financial consultant, and at Ford Motor Company as a financial analyst.

Matthew Ward

Matt has an MBA from Finance University of Michigan and a BS in Management from BYU. With 15 years of investing experience, he is a Founding Partner of Viden Arbor Capital, an asset management firm. Matt currently focuses on providing venture capital in the health and food industries. In addition, Matt has negotiated $100 million in NBA contracts as NBA agent.

Jeff Stamp

Jeff Stamp, Ph.D. is an expert in branding, process design, financial models, and teaching methods. As an advisor and consultant in the product development arena, entrepreneurs in a wide range of industries frequently call on him to share his methodologies and practices for developing brands and systems that help people live more enjoyable and fulfilling lives. Jeff is a highly sought-after faculty member for the 101 Instructor Universities, the 101 Master of Business Actions Program, and the 101 Wealth Academy.

Brian Johnson

Brian is the Executive VP of 101 Financial. During his 23 years of working with hundreds of clients in 34 industries, Brian has steadily taken on new assignments and leadership roles in many of the organizations he works with, with a focus on business development, process improvement, advanced multi-channel strategies, and helping companies in crisis. He has helped clients in various industries address a range of issues, including merger integration, operations improvement, and corporate strategy. 

John Schaub

John is an active real estate investor who manages his own properties and investments. He has survived and prospered during five recessions and three major tax law changes. John learned early in his career that houses, rather than apartments or commercial real estate, were more profitable, easier to buy, and easier to manage than other properties. He shares what he has learned with other investors through his books, newsletter, and seminars. His book Building Wealth One House at a Time (2nd edition, McGraw Hill 2016) has helped more than 100,000 investors.

Kahea Kamauu

Kahea is an entrepreneur, investor, and philanthropist who specializes in real estate, business, and technology. He is the sole owner and founder of ROI Companies, a company that focuses on a variety of real estate ventures, developments, business startups, and acquisitions. Among his current businesses are ROI Properties, ROI Petroleum, and Hawaiian Coconut. ROI Companies is based out of Honolulu, Hawaii. Kahea was awarded a Bachelor’s degree in Business Technology/Computer Science, and an Honorary Ph.D. for his humanitarian aid efforts around the world.

Charles Hew-Len

Charles is an entrepreneur and real estate investor who grew up in a low-income, high-crime neighborhood of Oahu. With strong ambitions but few role models, Charles took a wrong turn in his early life by becoming a drug dealer. Somewhat miraculously, however, he encountered an unexpected opportunity in prison to learn the nuts and bolts of real estate. After starting his life over again in 2008, he put his newfound knowledge to work, applying and refining what he had learned about real estate. Charles now has a portfolio worth over $40 million.

Ernest Jones

Ernest has a Masters of Science in Accountancy from UNLV, is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in Nevada, as well as a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE). With over 13 years of experience in the accounting world, he serves individuals and small to mid-sized companies with various accounting needs. For the last five years, Ernest has worked closely with individuals and business owners by assisting with tax planning, tax compliance, and IRS representation matters.

Kaihe Akina

Kaihe began the first seven years of his career at a CPA firm, handling tax preparation and tax planning services for individuals and business owners. With his knowledge of the 101 Financial program and expertise in corporate taxes and business structures, he serves as a seasoned faculty member for the 101 Wealth Academy. Kaihe has a B.S. in Accounting, a Masters of Science in Accountancy, and an MBA from Southern Utah University (SUU).

Tom McCarthy

Tom is a leadership, communication, and peak performance expert who specializes in results. Since 1987, as a corporate consultant, speaker, author, trainer and coach, Tom has successfully taught over one million people how to dramatically increase their level of performance and achieve record breaking results in business and in life. In 1993 Tom founded Thomas McCarthy & Associates, a thriving training and consulting firm, which works closely with clients ranging from new ventures to Fortune 500 companies.
