NBA's Jabari Parker and 101 Financial Partner for Free Youth Basketball Camp

Honolulu, HI June 21, 2016 – 101 Financial partnered with NBA player Jabari Parker of the Milwaukee Bucks to make a basketball camp in Hawaii available for free to 230 youths in grades three to twelve.

Thanks to Jabari Parker, Alan Akina and 101 Financial, location host BYU Hawaii and 7 Brothers Restaurant who provided free lunches for all participants, the camp was opened 230 youths at no cost.

Word of the free program spread like wildfire and the camp filled up in the first hour of registration. Campers participated in learning and team play and had the opportunity for photos and autographs with Jabari. The camp taught basketball skills and the importance of working together with people from all different backgrounds.

“Sometimes the chances kids have to participate in events of this caliber are limited by financial means. Jabari saw the value in breaking down the economic barriers and giving our local kids a chance at this great opportunity,” said Akina. “It was a no-brainer for 101 Financial, an educational company that teaches families the skills they need to live free of financial stress, to get behind this event making it possible for area boys and girls learn team skills from a great role model like Jabari Parker.”
